Welcome to Scotland’s Golf Coast. East Lothian is a jewel in Scotland’s crown as the home of golf. With 22 golf courses stretching through 30 miles of stunning coastline, golden beaches and rolling countryside, this is a golfing paradise. It is the sunniest and driest part of Scotland and is open for business throughout the year. It all began in 1672 and East Lothian has created some of the most celebrated courses in the world.
Archerfield Links, Dirleton, EH39 5HU. Tel: 01620 897050. Two 18-hole courses. Fidra Links is a unique mixture of pine forest and fast-running links and Dirleton links is a new challenging course with sweeping fairways and deep menacing bunkers.
Castle Park Golf Club, Gifford, EH41 4PL. Tel: 01620 810733. Friendly, family-run, visitors always welcome. Peter Alliss described Castle Park as “The Gleneagles of the south”.
Craigielaw Golf Club, Aberlady, EH32 0PY. Tel: 01875 870800. Opened in 2001. Course design was inspired by the great links courses of Britain. Host to many national events.
Dunbar Golf Club, East Links, Dunbar, EH42 1LL. Tel (Visitors): 01368 862317 then option 1. Open qualifying championship links course.
Gifford Golf Club, Edinburgh Road, Gifford, EH41 4JE. Tel: 01620 810591. 9-hole course described by Golf World as “the best 9 holes in Scotland”.
